Deadline for Applications: 5 pm on May 27, 2005

Student Participation

An NZIMA subsidy is available to help cover much of the transport and accommodation cost for students attending the workshop.  The amount granted is $400 for students from the North Island and $250 for students from the South Island.  This is based on super-saver air fares and backpacker accommodation rates. Transport cover will be in the form of cheques from NZIMA to be allocated at the workshop. Accommodation will be paid directly through the Workshop, though you must book it through the registration form.  If you wish to claim this, fill in the student subsidy application form, including details of your department, supervisor, subject, and travel plans. Applications must be received by 5 pm on May 27, 2005.

Funding will be granted in liaison with student funding for the NZSA conference in Dunedin.

Accommodation

A list of backpackers in the immediate vicinity of the workshop is given below, the closest of which is Mountain View Backpackers.  It is shown on this map,  and 10 beds have been pre-booked here.

Students will have the cost of backpacker rate accommodation ($88) covered from their NZIMA subsidy. Choose this option on your registration form, but note that no direct payment will be required as the workshop will make a bulk payment.  This will be regarded as a commitment, and students are required to complete a subsidy application form to be eligible for this assistance.
